This website documents the curatorial and writing activities of James Putnam. It takes the form of an archive box which opens to reveal seven coloured boxes that when clicked on display their contents of texts, images and video clips. Projects are mainly concerned with interweaving the art of the past and present, through collaborations with artists to create a dialogue between their ideas and museum artefacts, embracing the notion that 'all art was once contemporary'. In character with this subversion of linear time, the projects tend not to be documented here in chronological order while current ones are shown on the moving 'going-on-ongoing' display.
