Johan Deckmann is a Copenhagen based artist and practicing psychotherapist. He takes vintage books and paints witty one-liners on their covers. The titles of these fictional self-help style books are expressed in short confrontational sentences that make us reflect upon funny aJnd ironical aspects of the human condition. These thought provoking ‘book works’ offer a humorous insight into our insecurities, fears, and frustrations and remind us of the sense of duality within ourselves.
