Tim Brennan - ‘Museum of Angels’, British Museum Residency 2003

Brennan has devised a special version of his form of guided walk which he refers to as a 'manoeuvre'. This centres on his research into angels and other winged beings that he has noted on exhibition in the British Museum’s collection. The walk is constructed from quotations, which are read aloud to a group at points en route. Brennan has produced special publication with a text by James Putnam, which follows the format of the original 19th century BM guides. This was launched by the publisher Gli Ori at the 2003 Venice Biennale.
