Museum of Angels - Tim Brennan, Guide to Winged Creatures in the British Museum

As part of his British Museum Residency 2003 Brennan devised a special version of his form of guided walk which he refers to as a 'manoeuvre'. This centred on his research into angels and other winged beings that he noted on exhibition in the British Museum as collection. The walk is constructed from quotations, which are read aloud to a group at points en route. Brennan meticulously catalogued every winged being on display and produced special publication with a text by James Putnam, which follows the format of the original 19th century BM guides. This was be launched by the publisher Gli Ori at the 2003 Venice Biennale.
